Creating awareness through the arts
Because this is a collaborative effort by several individuals, each active member brings their own skills, interests and contributions to the table. Having some creative people on the team, we can focus on art’s role in creating awareness for the environment and ways in which we can educate our communities about conservation by using creative expression as tool and universal language.
Plurge : “Bringing together art, environment & people”
As part of Ecojunki‘s efforts towards environmental awareness and education through the arts, a publication is being initiated to serve as platform for new art, illustration, design, photography and writing that focuses on the environment and conservation.
The name “Plurge” has been created by fusing together the following words or concepts:
Plunge - to dive, thrust, push, fall or immerse into something and thus reflects on pro-active behavior towards conservation and eco-education.
Pure - clean, good, true, natural, genuine, original, untainted, uncontaminated. Everything we want our environment to be.
Purge - to purify, cleanse, eliminate waste - the things we need to do to save our environment.
Printing will be funded by sponsors, so if you have any suggestions or info, please share! We also need some regular contributors, passionate about the environment and very talented in art, illustration and design.
